Ukuleles are small, soft-strung, and close to impossible to sound bad on, which is why beginners start here. Two chords go by in the first ten minutes and a complete song lands before the end. Instruments are provided, including a few sized for smaller hands.

Good for kids from about six up, and for adults who want the shortest possible distance between sitting down and playing something recognisable. Families often borrow two and end up working out harmonies at the kitchen table later in the week.
