First Instrument Hour

A low table covered in rhythm eggs, wood blocks, tambourines, and a couple of xylophones. The songs are short and repetitive on purpose: clap on this word, hit the bar on that one. Children rotate instruments so that nobody spends the whole session stuck with the triangle.

Aimed squarely at three to eight year olds with one adult sitting alongside. A single adult can comfortably bring two children. Older siblings who want to help are put to work handing out instruments rather than parked in a corner with a phone.
