There is a house drum kit, a couple of amps, a bass, and a shelf of loaner acoustic guitars. Somebody calls out a song that most of the room half-knows, someone else counts it in, and everyone follows. No audition, no set list handed down from on high, and nobody minds a wrong chord because it goes past too fast to dwell on.

This suits the parent who played in a band fifteen years ago and has not touched the thing since, as much as it suits people who still gig. Teenagers are welcome and usually end up running it. Come to play, or come and sit at the back with a kid on your lap and listen.
